meet the roaster

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I began my coffee journey on a path very different from most people working in the coffee industry. I first discovered the world of “specialty coffee” while touring the United States and parts of Europe as a drummer in various bands. Being in a different city daily, I would cruise the city streets in between load-in and showtime or on off days looking for the closest coffee shops serving good espresso. 

One day, I was served a natural Ethiopian espresso shot with flavors of blueberry and vanilla and a whole different world opened up. How could coffee taste like this on it’s own? This led to countless hours of online research and searching each new city for coffee shops serving specialty coffee.

While venturing into various shops, I stumbled across a few roasting their own coffee. I was intrigued by the whole process and started to read about how coffee was roasted. This led to me purchasing my little Arc 800 gram roaster and I haven’t looked back since. When I’m not roasting, you can find me running the coffee bar at Bearcat CBD and Bearcat Cafe in New Orleans, LA. Thank you for allowing me to pursue my dreams of roasting these coffees in a way that allows you to experience your coffee as if you were experiencing a high end glass of an aged wine.
